Telluride Film Festival

Jeanette and I just got back from a fantastic trip to the 41st Telluride Film Festival where my animated short ‘The Pride of Strathmoor’ premiered. it was introduced as a “film you will never forget”. People reacted extremely well to it, many of them stopping me in the streets to complement it or to ask questions during the days that followed. The program consisting of five other shorts was popular enough to secure another screening which, like the first one, played to a full theater.

One of the highlights of the festival was being invited to talk about my film along with the other directors of the Filmmakers of Tomorrow to discuss our films with high school students from the Telluride Film Festival Student Symposium (a program that takes place during the festival in which high school students from both Telluride and other towns get to learn about filmmaking from noted filmmakers).

The festival itself is amazing beyond belief. The often used description “the greatest film festival in the world” is no exaggeration. I left Telluride both inspired and excited about all the people I met and films I saw.
